Dr. Edith Perez Wins EVE Lifetime Achievement Award
JACKSONVILLE, fla. -- High praise for a Jacksonville doctor who has become an international crusader in the quest to find a cure for breast cancer.
Dr. Edith Perez of the Mayo Clinic received the prestigious EVE Award for Lifetime Achievement in a ceremony in downtown Jacksonville.
Dr. Perez is credited with some of the most significant breakthroughs in breast cancer treatment of the past 30 years. She is currently the lead investigator for a new clinical trial that involves 8000 women in 50 countries on six continents.
She is also the co-founder of 26.2 With Donna The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer. Proceeds from the race go to fund her benchtop research at Mayo Clinic.
