JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two teenagers are among three people now charged with murder following a shooting last month on the Westside.
Antwan Johnson, 20, was found dead in a ditch near the intersection of Harlow and Anvers boulevards on May 15.
In a news conference this morning, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Homicide Lt. Rob Schoonover said 18-year-old William Lee Holmes was considered a suspect, and told police his version of what happened.
Schoonover said that Holmes told detectives he intended to rob Johnson, stealing 1 ounce of marijuana and $10 from him.
Holmes said 19-year-old Antoni Lashawn Knight shot Johnson, who was sitting in the driver's seat of his car.
Holmes said he helped move the body to the passenger seat, and Knight and a third suspect, 20-year-old Frederick Demond Johnson, drove away, returning to tell Holmes they had dumped the body in a ditch then burned his car at a church.
All three have been charged with murder and armed robbery.
