JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The ports of Jacksonville and Fernandina Beach opened for regular operations as of noon Monday, according to Coast Guard Captain Andy Blomme.
Pilots may have some issues getting on board due to sea conditions, but hopefully those will abate by this afternoon, Blomme said.
There are some residual concerns with the north Cumberland Sound area.
Scaffolding dangling off of the Mathews Bridge is also a concern, Blomme said, and the Coast Guard will be putting up a safety zone under that section of the bridge, directing people to steer clear of that.
