JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- SMG experienced another setback in its bid to continue managing all city entertainment venues including EverBank Field, the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The city's Professional Services Evaluation Committee rejected SMG's protest during a special meeting held Wednesday afternoon.

For the past 20 years, the company has managed the city's venues including EverBank Field and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
The committee's decision keeps Global Spectrum as the company that scored the highest in the bid process, which only attracted two management firms.
With the protest denied, the Global Spectrum recommendation now goes to Mayor Alvin Brown. The Jacksonville Jaguars have said in the past it prefers SMG manage the stadium. The team does have veto powers in any major changes in the contract.
SMG is exploring all of its legal options, according to spokesperson Misty Skipper, following the decision to deny the protest.
