JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A former Jacksonville Sheriff's Office deputy was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison and 15 years of sex offender probation.
Richard Cannon, 48, pleaded guilty in August to charges of capital sexual battery and custodial sexual battery. He was arrested in 2011 after victims told police that Cannon had sexually battered them.
One girl was under the age of 12 and the other was under the age of 18, according to the State Attorney's Office.
Originally, Cannon faced 13 counts of sex crimes, but the charges were amended in August to capital sexual battery and custodial sexual battery.
Cannon was with JSO for 25 years.
