JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Funnel clouds were spotted near Vilano Beach early this afternoon as a National Weather Service advisory for eastern St. Johns County expired around 1 p.m.
The NWS radar found a thunderstorm centered two miles northeast of Vilano Beach at 12:25 p.m.
The warning indicated that "tornadoes may develop with little or no advance warning," the NWS stated.
Several viewers in Vilano Beach reported to First Coast News that they saw funnel clouds.
The storm was also expected to affect St. Augustine, St. Augustine South, Anastasia and South Ponte Vedra Beach, the advisory said.
