CEDAR KEY, Fla. (AP) - The father of a missing University of Florida student says he feels the body found in rural Levy County is that of his son.
Carlos Aguilar spoke to reporters Saturday in Gainesville. He said while test results have not confirmed the body is that of his son, Christian, he and his family believe that it is.
Gainesville Police say they are assisting the Levy County Sheriff's Office with the discovery and processing of a human body found Friday in Cedar Key.
Police declined to release further information.
The Miami Herald reported that Carlos Aguilar traveled from Miami to meet with investigators Friday.
He said police told him they have a body that matches his son, 18-year-old Christian Aguilar, who was last seen in a Gainesville Best Buy store with his friend, 18-year-old Pedro Bravo.
Bravo was charged with first-degree murder. Police say Bravo told them he beat Aguilar unconscious and left him in a parking lot.
