BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Two men have been charged in connection with an armed robbery and home invasion on Sweet Gum Drive that took place Thursday morning.
Deandre Whitfield, 18, and Tyler Addison, 19, both of Brunswick, were arrested and now face charges including burglary, armed robbery and false imprisonment, according to a release from Capt. Marissa Tindale of the Glynn County Police Department.
The home's resident told police he was awakened by the sound of someone kicking in his bedroom door. Two men entered his room and one of them pointed a gun and told him to put his head down.
They then fled the home, taking three guns, jewelry and a cell phone, Tindale said. A witness saw the two men walking behind her home and called police.
A vehicle being driven by Addison's mother Venus Denise Addison, 47, was stopped by Brunswick Police Officer Hank Scott after a lookout was issued. Tyler Addison and Whitfield were found trying to hide in the backseat.
Tyler Addison and Whitfield were arrested and subsequently charged. Venus Addison was not arrested or charged, Tindale said.
