(AP) -- A plan to install cameras in city-owned vehicles in Atlanta is raising privacy concerns from the workers who will be videotaped.

Atlanta officials plan to install 175 cameras in the city vehicles.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the goal is to save taxpayers millions of dollars in accident claims. They say it would cut down on careless or dangerous driving by discouraging texting, cellphone use and increasing safety and seatbelt use.

Some employees fear that the cameras will give their bosses a way to spy on them.

The Atlanta City Council is expected Monday to vote on a pilot program that would allow the city to activate DriveCams, which are designed to record up to 12 seconds of any major change in a car's speed or direction.
