PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A marijuana eradication operation in Putnam County seized 500 marijuana plants valued around $500,000 on Tuesday.
The operation was a joint effort between the Putnam County Sheriff's Office Drug/Vice Unit, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Tri-County Drug Taskforce, and United States Customs and Border Protection agents.
The operation focused on locating and destroying marijuana growing in open fields.
"Today's operation is an excellent example of multiple law enforcement agencies bringing their resources together in a cooperative effort," Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said.
The plants were discovered in a rural area south of Crescent City, near Citron Avenue according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
No suspects have been charged.
