JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Brad Meester is entering his 14th NFL season while Carson Tinker is a rookie. Among the things they have in common are that they both snap the ball and they each have experienced a devastating tornado in some form or fashion.

In 2008, Meester's hometown of Parkersburg, Iowa was ripped apart by a tornado. At the time, Meester and 3 other NFL players from that area helped raise thousands of dollars to help that area rebuild. Five years later, Meester said that you can't even tell a tornado traveled through the town.

In 2011, Tinker was injured when a tornado tore through Tuscaloosa where he played football at the University of Alabama. To make matters worse, Tinker's girlfriend was one of more than 50 people that were killed in the Tuscaloosa tornado.

Both Meester and Tinker can attest that lots of help is needed in the areas of Oklahoma that have been recently ravaged by tornadoes.  They also say that things will get better for the people there and that all of the support that is pouring in from all over the world will help this area get back to normal.
