JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Felicia Johnson is the Neighborhood Network Coordinator with the Duval County Housing Authority at Brentwood Apartments.
For the last five years she has served the residents at the Brentwood Apartments, teaching GED classes and computer training classes.
Johnson's road to success has been a rough one.
At age 15 she got pregnant and dropped out of high school.
At age 18 she got married and was in an abusive relationship for ten years.
Johnson says for years she felt worthless, there was no hope and she didn't have a reason to live.
But her pastor encouraged her and reminded her of the importance of getting an education.
Johnson went back to school, got her diapolma, her bachelors degree and her masters.
Now she's a mother of six and is using her personal testimony to inspire and motivate the residents she serves at the Brentwood Apartments and she plans to get her doctorate.
