JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for the driver of a small red Pontiac it believes witnessed a crash that killed Chantel Jonson early Saturday morning.
The crash occurred at the 5200 block of Atlantic Boulevard around 7 a.m.

According to JSO, a Ford sport utility vehicle was traveling westbound on Atlantic Boulevard and collided head-on Jonson's Nissan traveling eastbound on Atlantic Boulevard after the SUV crossed the median.
Jonson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford SUV was transported to UF Shands with non-life threatening injuries.
There was allegedly a small red Pontiac vehicle that the maroon Ford SUV almost struck when the driver lost control, according to JSO.
Investigators are looking to identify and speak to the driver of the small red Pontiac vehicle to gather further details. Anyone who has any information about that vehicle or driver is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.
Alcohol is likely a contributing factor in this crash. The investigation is active and ongoing.
