JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man turned himself into the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on Thursday for the 2012 murder of another man at Mascara's.
Stanley Kelvin Merriweather, 31, admitted to fatally shooting 29-year-old Glenn Eugene Adams, JSO said in a press conference Friday.
According to a JSO incident report, Adams and a friend were at Mascara's on October 6, 2012 being entertained by dancers in the VIP section.
Merriweather allegedly came over to one of the dancers entertaining Adams and his friend and got into an argument about money and struck that dancer across the face.
Adams then began punching Merriweather, who then pulled out a gun and shot Adams in the chest, according to the report.
Merriweather's prior criminal history includes charges of possession with intent to sell cocaine, shooting or throwing deadly missiles, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic assault and grand theft auto.
