JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 32-year-old man from Middleburg, Fla. has been sentenced to nine years and 10 months in prison for the charge of possessing ammunition by a convicted felon.
Maurice Futch pleaded guilty to the charge on August 28.
According to a Department of Justice press release, a search warrant was served on July 16, 2012 and Clay County Sheriff's Office and special agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) found over 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a drug scale and other narcotics paraphernalia, and a picture of Futch shooting a pistol at a local gun range.
Futch is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law due to five prior felony convictions.
