Fla. Attorney General Pam Bondi
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is turning to a Tampa attorney and lobbyist to lead her office.
Bondi is hiring Tyler Cathey to serve as chief deputy attorney general. Cathey is currently an attorney with the Tampa office of Englander Fischer. He served as a special counsel to Bondi's 2010 campaign.
Cathey replaces Carlos Muniz, who had been chief of staff and deputy attorney general. Muniz joined McGuireWoods Consulting as a senior vice president on Dec. 31.

Muniz had worked for Bondi since she took office in 2011. He played a pivotal role in helping guide the day-to-day operations for the Republican attorney general.
Cathey recently represented hotels upset that Treasure Island city officials were allowing people to park their cars on beaches near the hotels.
