JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Thursday night is opening night for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey: Legends at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena!
To start things off, families are invited to the Ringling Bros. parade Tuesday to watch their animals stroll down Talleyrand Avenue, around Gator Bowl Boulevard south of Everbank Field and north on A. Phillip Randolph Boulevard in front of main entrance to Arena then west on Duval to Arena parking lot.
The animal walk will begin at 9 a.m. at the railroad tracks at Talleyrand Avenue, just north of Jessie Street near Owens Corning Insulation. It is subject to change, however, a spokesperson for the circus says they've walked in worse.
Ringling Bros. ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson will entertain children Wednesday with a book reading and song. That starts at 11:30at the Jacksonville Public Library's Main branch downtown.
In addition, feast with the stars of Ringling Bros. Circus at Trunks and Truckies from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
This event will feature some of the Jacksonville's best food trucks gathered at the Veterans Memorial Arena. Special guests will include the world famous, Ringling Bros. and Bailey Asian elephants.
Ticket prices vary depending on seating. They range from $15-$55. New this year is a chance to go in the Ringmaster's Zone. Ticketholders will have access to the Ringmaster tent before the show and sneak peeks of some of the acts.
