Westside residents may hear additional noise during aircraft training

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- For two weeks in December Westside residents will hear increased aircraft activity as Navy jets conduct training.

Miriam Gallet, Public Affairs Officer with Naval Air Station Jacksonville, said the training will take place from December 3 through 16 at Outlying Landing Field (OLF) Whitehouse.

During the training, EA-6B Prowlers, F-21 Kfirs and MK-58 Hawker Hunter jets will conduct training.

Gellet said the field located north of Highway 90 near Whitehouse is configured for day and night carrier landing practice.
