NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson is hitting the campaign trail with President Barack Obama, while rival U.S. Rep. Connie Mack is spending time in Central Florida.
Republican candidate Mack is trying to keep Nelson from winning a third term in office. Several polls have put Nelson ahead but Mack's campaign has predicted that Mack will narrowly defeat the Democratic incumbent.
Mack is campaigning in New Smyrna Beach and Lakeland Sunday and is also scheduled to appear on the Fox News Channel.
Nelson will be with President Obama when he makes a campaign appearance in Hollywood. He is planning to spend Monday sign-waving in Central Florida.
