JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A crowd of 30 people interested in voting rights took part on a "Awake the State" rally held outside the Supervisor of Elections office Wednesday evening.

The rally came hours after Governor Rick Scott delivered his State of the State speech.

"We do need to modernize our election system," said Angie Nixon with Florida New Majority, which organized the rally.

"That ain't right," was the line of the rally when speakers made reference to long lines to vote in last November's election.

Of concern is the state's decision that reduced number of days for early voting and eliminated voting the Sunday before the election.
