SANFORD, Fla. - The jury for the George Zimmerman trial has been selected and will be sequestered at the start of the trial Monday.

What is juror sequestration?

WESH 2 legal experts Jeff Deen, Richard Hornsby and Alisia Adamson explained the aspects of sequestration on WESH 2 News Friday.

"They're going to be holed up in a luxury hotel for the next month," Hornsby said. "They're going to have limited access to newspaper, Internet and email."

The experts said the hotel stay will be like a very nice stint in jail.

"Their news will be filtered, their conversations will be monitored -- everything they do," Deen said. "It will be like a terrible cruise. They will be fed really well, but won't have access to anyone but themselves."

The jurors will be sequestered for however long the trial lasts.

"Hopefully, they'll get some type of activity," Adamson said.

Opening statements are set to start on Monday morning. Zimmerman will stand trial on a second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
