ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A 57-year-old woman was killed Friday night on A1A.

David Krantz, 55, was driving a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle with 57-year-old Ursula Vassiliou as a passenger, according to a crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle was behind a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee driving south on A1A.

As the vehicles approached Butler Park East, the Grand Cherokee slowed down to make a left turn.  The driver told investigators she used her turn signal in preparation for the turn as she slowed, according to the report.

When the driver of the Grand Cherokee began to turn left, the motorcycle tried to pass her on the left side.

The motorcycle and the Jeep collided, causing the Harley Davidson to travel onto the shoulder of A1A and overturn.

Krantz was taken to Flagler Hospital with serious injuries.  Vassiliou was pronounced deceased at Shands Jacksonville.  The crash report says neither person was wearing a helmet.

Charges are pending in the crash, according to FHP.
