JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a car crash that sent an SUV into a pond mid-morning Wednesday.

An SUV traveling westbound on Beaver collided with a Ford Focus on Lee Street, according to witness statements, sending the SUV between two trees and into a retention pond.

Witnesses claim the Ford pulled out in front of the SUV.

Good Samaritans helped rescue the female driver and her four-year-old passenger out of the pond, according to Officer Dan Grannon with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital as a precaution and no injuries have been reported at this point.

An investigation is underway.
