PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A man has been arrested in the death of a 33-year-old Satsuma man found dead in a wooded lot in June, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said today.
Demarkis Phillips, 16, was arrested today and turned over to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice for the murder of Zenovia King. he is being held without bond.
King, of Crescent City, was last seen June 22 walking near Old San Mateo Road and Kerry Drive in Satsuma, police said. At some point, Phillips met King and while robbing him, stabbed King repeatedly.
King's body was found in a wooded lot in Satsuma June 26. Two days later, police announced the case was a homicide.
Phillips was interviewed today at the Putnam County Sheriff's Office; police said he was arrested based on the interview and other information from the investigation.
