CHARLESTON, S.C. -- A Georgia man has been arrested in South Carolina for the slaying of a Jacksonville woman he met through a Craigslist ad.
David Kelsey Sparre, 19, was arrested Saturday at a home in Charleston.
"He had family members that he was visiting there. When the detectives contacted him there, he was at one of his relative's houses. His relatives were very cooperative throughout the investigation," said Lt. Larry Schmitt with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Sparre is charged with murder in the July 12 stabbing death of 21-year-old Tiara Pool of Jacksonville. Police said she was stabbed multiple times.
Authorities said Sparre responded to the woman's personal ad on Craigslist.
The two met at a public place in Jacksonville July 8. They then went back to Pool's apartment; that's where Sparre confessed to killing her.
Court records showed Sparre was being held Monday at the Charleston County jail. He has a listed address in Brunswick, Georgia.
Schmitt said that a friend went to the woman's home at the Country Club Lakes Apartment Homes and found her there July 12.
Pool's sister-in-law, Amy Pool, called it a "shock," and said Tiara Pool's mother-in-law in Bonifay is now caring for her two sons.
The boys, ages 1 and 3, had been staying there while their mother concentrated on school. She was hoping to finish up by September.
Pool's husband, Naval Petty Officer Michael Pool, was deployed with the U.S.S. The Sullivans as a gas turbine system technician, according to Naval Station Mayport.
