SLIDESHOW: THE LINGERIE FOOTBALL LEAGUE MEDIA DAY
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Billed as true fantasy football, the Lingerie Football League, will host its conference championship games at the Veterans Memorial Arena.
Kickoff for the first game is 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29. The second game follows.
Today, the league hosted a preview with players from Los Angles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Tampa in uniform.
The LFL championship final is Feb. 6 in Las Vegas.
League founder Mitchell S. Mortaza said this morning that the First Coast is on the LFL's radar beyond just the conference playoffs.
"Our aspiration is definitely to come to Jacksonville," he said as he spoke of the league's current and proposed expansion.
The league, which began in 2009, had 10 teams competing in 2010, including teams in Orlando and Tampa.
Mortaza said the league made a profit, played in crowded arenas and has television coverage on MTV, so he'd like to see the league expand to 26-32 teams by 2014.
Three other teams -- Las Vegas, Cleveland and Green Bay -- have already joined for 2011, with one more yet to be announced.
