LAKE CITY, Fla. --  A memorial was held for two fallen firefighters Wednesday night.

Josh Burch, 31, of Lake City, and Brett Fulton, 52, died while fighting the Blue Ribbon Fire in Hamilton County, according to a statement from the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Josh's parents paused to remember their son on Wednesday.

"He gave his life.  They would all, they would all do it," said his mother Mollie Burch-Gaylord.

Both his parents were overwhelmed by the community's support.

"It's so important to show how much they cared for Joshua," she said.

His parents said Josh died doing what he loved, serving his community.

"After every phone call, I would tell him, son, be careful. Whatever you do, be careful," said his Father, Hollis Burch.

While the Division of Forestry is still investigating exactly what happened that night, the show of support for the families of the two men has been unwavering.

"It's been full with people the past two nights, people coming to pay their respects, pay tribute to their fallen heroes," said Joel Cohee, one of the event's organizers.

And while they're grateful for the support, Josh's parents said nothing can replace their son.

"I will miss him, and I know that I can talk to him anytime," said Mollie.

"I miss him. I'm going to miss him.  He was my best friend," said Hollis.

Firefighters Robert Marvin and Stephen Carpenter were taken to Lake City Hospital and Shands Gainesville to be treated for smoke-related injuries, then released Monday night. Their ages and tenures were not released.

Investigators from the Division of Forestry and the Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement are investigating what led to the deaths and injuries at the fire, which has been burning since June 16.
