The victims were not identified, but according to Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford, two men and a woman are dead. An 18-month-old is in critical condition and was taken to Shands.
Rutherford said that police are looking for a connection between a Sunday shooting where 11 people were shot and today's incident. He urged those with information about the shooting to come forward.
The scene was off Kings Road and Myrtle Avenue. Prince Street and Brady Street were completely blocked off. Myrtle Avenue closed in both directions between Kings Road and Beaver Street, and Barnett Street closed in both directions between State Street and Beaver Street.
Drivers can use Tyler Street to reach Kings Road or Beaver Street. Interstate 95 or Main Street are the best alternate routes to avoid the area.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded.
