JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Twenty-four hours after the shooting that killed three people and seriously injured a toddler, a resident shared with us cell phone video of the courtyard moments after the gunfire.

He said he wants all of us to see what he and his neighbors deal with too often.

The video is graphic. At times it does show some of the people who died.

We have decided to show you the video, which includes the bodies, for a couple of reasons:

It may be too easy for those of us who don't live there to forget that these are real people. And if change is going to happen, we need to see beyond the statistics.

We believe this video might cause you to think a little more about what is going on in our city and perhaps make you want to do something about it.  Just after 4:30 in the afternoon Tuesday, the bodies of 31 year old Billy Johnson and 26 year old Kenneth Curry lie lifeless on Prince Street.

Just after 4:30 in the afternoon Tuesday, the bodies of 31 year old Billy Johnson and 26 year old Kenneth Curry lie lifeless on Prince Street.

Just as police and rescue arrive, a resident films the scene on his cell phone camera.

"I hope she alright, man," you hear the photographer say.

Rescuers work frantically to save the life of 19 year old Danielle Melton, a mother of young twins.
An innocent bystander in the shooting, she died on her way to the hospital.

As rescue workers try to take control of the scene, they ask the neighbor to step back from the gruesome scene.

"We want to help find who did this, can y'all just back up please," an EMT can be heard asking.

In the moments immediately following the shooting, everyone tries to figure out just what happened in the chaos.

After 2 minutes and 21 seconds, the video ends with gurneys rolling up to the scene.
