An agent working with Casey Anthony's ex-boyfriend is shopping a book proposal in which the ex-boyfriend says he witnessed "severe dysfunction," the New York Post is reporting.
Anthony is the Florida mother acquitted in July in the 2008 death of her daughter Caylee Anthony, 2. Evidence presented during her trial earlier in Orlando indicated that Anthony partied while she allegedly believed her daughter was missing.
"I witnessed the devastating effects of severe dysfunction," Jesse Grund writes in the proposal being shopped by D.J. Snell, president and founder of Legacy Management in Winter Park, Fla., according to the Post.
The news organization has obtained a copy of the proposal.
"I know what events in her life have molded her into the vilified Casey Anthony," Grund further writes.
Grund, the son of a Queens, N.Y., minister, began dating Anthony in January 2005. That summer, she told him she was pregnant and the baby was his, but a later paternity test revealed that he was not Caylee Anthony's father, the Post reports.
Grund writes in the proposal that over time, he "watched Casey change into the infamous 'party monster' everyone else saw."
Grund gave evidence in Anthony's trial without the jury present.
A representative for Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, told the Post, "I found Mr. Grund to be very interested in serving himself. ... Prosecutors told me Jesse was upset that he wasn't called as a witness."
The lawyer's representative added, "There have been many witnesses trying to exploit the situation; this is nothing new."
