JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Duval County Health Department has announced another death from the West Nile Virus.
According to the DCHD, the 57-year-old woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was previously identified as the county's sixth confirmed case, and her death is the second from West Nile in the county.
In addition to the death, the DCHD has announced that another person has also contracted the disease.
Twelve people have now been confirmed to have contracted West Nile this year in Duval County.
Starting back in mid-July the city's Mosquito Control Division did both aerial spraying and ground fogging to try to control the mosquito population around town.
There's even a page on their website that shows where they've sprayed and where they plan to. According to that website, September 8 was the last time either method was used.
