Person Sought in Shooting of 13-Year-Old Turns Self in; 3 Still at Large

  • JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One person turned herself in today in connection with a shooting that left a 13-year-old in the hospital with life threatening injuries.

    According to a JSO police report, during a physical altercation Wednesday afternoon between 24-year-old Lamonica Smith and a man identified as "T," Smith's eye and mouth were injured.

    Later in the afternoon, Smith and several suspects went to T's apartment in the 5000 block of Westchase Court to confront him about the earlier altercation and vandalized T's car, the report said. While vandalizing the car, gun shots rang out and a 13-year-old victim was struck at least two times.

    Brittany Chanelle Myers, 22, turned herself in to police after she saw herself on television

    Christine Monique King, 22, Adonia Jones, 22, and Lamonica L. Smith, 24, already were taken into custody on charges of child neglect.

    JSO are still seeking three people of interest in this case:

        Eric Alonzo Jackson, 24
        Curtis Christopher Warren
        Joshua Donell King, 23
