JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A simple ride turned into a scary situation for some JTA Skyway passengers Friday night.
While riding one of the Skyway trams near the Hogan Street station one of the passengers reported smelling smoke, said Shannon Eller, JTA spokesperson.
The transit company followed its standard procedure and stopped the car in its tracks and Eller said operators called JFRD to help get the passengers out of the train's car.
No one was injured and JTA workers will check the car to see what was causing the smoky smell.
Eller said the stop didn't affect any of the other Skyway trams and said the Skyway stops operating at 9 p.m.
