Episcopal Head of School Dale Regan
A memorial service for Dale Regan will be held Friday at 11 a.m.
Regan, the Head of School at Episcopal School of Jacksonville was shot to death Tuesday by fired employee Shane Schumerth, 29, who then committed suicide, according to police.
Friday's service will be held in the Campion courtyard between Parks and Lastinger Halls on the campus.
Her sons have requested that in lieu of flowers, donations instead be made to the Dale Regan memorial Fund at Episcopal School of Jacksonville.
In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, The Very Rev. Kate Moorhead of Episcopal School thanked everyone saying, "the Episcopal community is extremely grateful for your prayers, and the outpouring of support and offers of assistance. Right now our primary and continued concern is for our students and our faculty and staff."
Moorehead said grief counselors and psychiatric professionals are available in addition to spiritual advisors at the school's Bryan Library until 3 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.
"We ask at this time that you respect our community as we grieve and the students coming to campus for care," said Moorehead.
