JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Traffic homicide detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are investigating if a car involved in a fatal single-vehicle crash on Collins Road is stolen.
The crash happened in the 5100 block of Collins Road Monday morning.
Traffic homicide investigators at the scene said the car was traveling at a high rate of speed Eastbound on Collins Road when the driver lost control.
The car hit a utility pole, cutting it in two.
Detectives said there were two men in the car. One of the men was killed, the other was taken to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police are working to determine if the car was stolen. The car was not being pursued at the time of the crash, detectives said.
