Jacksonville, Fla. -- Jacksonville Fire Chief Martin Senterfitt said fire and smoke suppression tests will resume at the new courthouse early Saturday morning.

If the tests pass, the courthouse could open as early as next week. If not, city and fire officials will look at an alternate plan of a phased opening. That would mean parts of the courthouse would open, while the other areas that still have problems with the fire systems will remain closed.
Senterfitt said the areas that are still having trouble passing the tests are the atrium and a part of "three west."
First Coast News will have updated information after the city conducts the tests on Saturday.
