JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- People have been working "around the clock" to get the old Duval County Courthouse ready to open for business.
Karen Bowling, deputy chief administrator for the city, said the goal is to be back in the old courthouse a week from Monday.
The new Duval County Courthouse has not opened yet due to the failure of the fire suppression system during tests.
Bowling said they examined several options to continue court, but moving back into the old courthouse was the best option for all parties involved.
The initial move into the new courthouse was a "building inspector," Bowling said, who signed off on a move and train permit, which would allow employees to go in and get set up.
