PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- It took a jury less than 30 minutes to return a guilty verdict for a 20-year-old man accused of murder.
Evans David Perez Martinez was found guilty of first degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon after a two day trial, according to a news release from State Attorney R.J. Larizza's office.

Martinez faces an automatic life sentence, the release said.
According to the release, Martinez stabbed Zenovia King several times in the upper torso with a knife after King resisted being robbed of his money and cannabis.

After the robbery, Martinez and a co-defendant, Demarkis Phillips, split King's belongings, the release said.
Martinez will be sentenced by Circuit Judge Carlos E. Mendoza. A date has not yet been set.
