JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to an attempted robbery early Wednesday morning.
According to Sgt. Jonathon Randolph with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, at least five people in a Jeep attempted to rob someone on West 18th Street around 2:20 a.m. this morning.
Police said they chased the group of five in their car for a couple of miles.
The victim was shot during the robbery attempt and was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life threatening injuries.
He made the call to authorities after walking back to his residence in the 1000 block of W. 17th St.
Four people are currently in custody and police are searching for a fifth suspect, according to Sgt. Randolph. No description has been given for the suspect they are looking for.
An investigation is ongoing.
