Man with gunshot wounds dropped at fire station

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man who had been shot multiple times during a robbery was dropped off at a fire station Monday night. 

The injured man was left by an unknown person at Fire Station No. 18 on 3500 Myrtle Ave. around 9:30 p.m. 

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Detective Chester Bear said the victim was walking in the near the 4500 block of Spring Grove Ave. when two suspects approached him and asked for a lighter.

The victim said he did he didnt have one and one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot him three times, according to Bear. 

An unknown person then left the victim at the Fire Station, according to JSO. 

The man was taken to UF Health.
