LAKE BUTLER, Fla. -- In Lake Butler an emotional community came together Sunday night for a special church service.

The topics ranged from Saturday's shooting, to the victims, to how neighbors move forward. The service was led by the Senior Minister at the First Christian Church of Lake Butler, Art Peterson.

"Give the community and opportunity just to come here to a central place and meet for prayer, and encouragement and strength", said Peterson.

Many people FCN spoke with said the service was something the community desperately needed. Though many are still asking questions, they said Saturday's tragedy is bringing the close community even closer.

"It'll make us protect each other. It'll make us look out for each other a little better. Neighborhood watch will have a whole new meaning," said Peterson.

David Griffis and Lewis Mabrey Jr. are still in the hospital.

Mabrey has been upgraded to fair condition according to ShandsUF.

According to the Pritchett Trucking website, Griffis is still in critical condition, and there's an urgent need for blood.

For anyone interested in helping, the LifeSouth Community Blood Center will be open at 8:00 Monday morning. Donors must say they are giving blood for Griffis.

The address for LifeSouth is 1221 NW 13th Street in Lake Butler. Anyone with questions can call (352) 334-1000.
