JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Save Our Libraries continued its mission of creating an independent library district, delivering 2,500 signatures Tuesday to the Supervisor of Elections office.
To conduct a straw ballot in 2014, the group is trying to collect more than 26,000 signatures from registered voters.
So far, the Supervisor of Elections has verified 17,782 signatures and thousands are still under review, according to a release from Cheryl Williams of Save Our Libraries.
