By Deanna Fené First Coast News JACKSONVILLE, FL -- You've tried everything... diet and exercise but you still have some stubborn areas of fat. Some men have love handles women often have a baby belly or flabby arms. 44-year old Jerry McGee says he's tried everything to get rid of his love handles. "I do work out, but I do have kids and a family. I can only put so much time into it and these love handles just don't seem to want to go away." He went to Aelan Medical Spa to get rid of his flanks for good. "I've come to the realization it's not going to go away on its own." He got the latest advance in liposuction called liposculpture which is a combination of three therapies: liposuction, local anesthesia, and a follow-up treatment. Dr. Hale Hedley says liposculpture is not for everyone. "The ideal candidate for liposculpture is someone who has a good ideal body weight. (This is not) a weightloss mechanism. It's just meant to reform the body contour to a more pleasing result." The entire procedure takes about an hour and a half and when it's over. "You will see a difference right away," says Dr. Headley. McGee is happy to finally have his spare tire off his body. "They're taking the fat out so it's gone. There's not suppose to be a whole lot of swelling." Recovery from liposculpture is minimal and most patients return to work the next day. The cost varies depending on how much you get done and where it's done; but it can range from $1,000 to $10,000.
