KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Two high school teachers have been arrested in central Florida after a 12-year-old boy said he was burned by a cigarette lighter while in their care.
Orlando television station WFTV reported the child's mother called authorities Tuesday after she noticed the burn marks on his mouth and nose. She told police the boy was staying with Thomas and Bianca Vacek.
According to Osceola County Sheriff's deputies, the child said Bianca Vacek burned him with a lighter while she was drunk. Both resisted arrest when deputies tried to take them into custody.
WFTV reports the Vaceks are teachers at Poinciana High School. She faces aggravated child abuse and other charges. He's charged with failing to report the abuse.
