Greensboro, NC -- A billboard prominently displayed on one of the busiest streets in Greensboro is turning heads.
The billboard on Battleground Avenue, near Wendover Avenue, reads:
GPS tracker -- $250, Nikon camera with zoom lens -- $1,600, catching my LYING HUSBAND and buying this billboard with our investment account -- Priceless.
Tell Jessica you're moving in!
We don't know who Michael is. We don't know who Jessica is. And we don't know who Jennifer is. In fact, we don't know if they exist. This could be a publicity stunt for a brand new billboard.
But on Wednesday, we found a lot of people were curious.
"I thought it was kind of ingenious, then I was wondering if it was actually real," said Wil Gibbs. "I'm not sure if it was somebody actually doing it, but if it is, she got him."
"I don't know if it's true or not, but it kind of makes me laugh...if it's true, it also makes me kind of sad. But it's clever," said Annie Roberts.
"I actually had a friend of mine send it to me on Facebook earlier today, and I was on my way over here to meet some friends and I thought I'd take a good look at it for myself when I got here," said James Bohannon.
"I think that Michael has a tough couple of weeks coming," said Gibbs.
So if it is true, what was Jennifer thinking? WFMY News 2 asked Dr. Nannette Funderburk just that. Funderburk said assuming this is a real situation, it's all about power through exposure.
"She possibly felt pretty betrayed by this. We don't know all the details of what was going on, but betrayal is a strong emotion. And when you feel betrayed, that thought of vengeance comes back. I want to be able to get my power back," said Funderburk.
We don't know how much the billboard actually costs, but we did check with the sales department at WFMY News 2, which has purchased billboards in the past.
Billboards typically cost somewhere between $2,000 and $2,200 a month for one side. This message from Jennifer is on both sides of the billboard.
