A Nashville woman was rushed to the hospital overnight after an errant bullet from a neighbor's gun hit her while she was asleep in her bed.
A 22-year-old man who lives in the apartment above the woman accidentally shot his gun through the floor at about 11 p.m. Sunday, according to Nashville police Captain Kenneth Walburn. The woman was seriously injured by the gunshot.
She was taken from her Hickory Hill Lane apartment to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was in stable condition early this morning, Walburn said.
Police arrested the man and charged him with reckless endangerment.
The man was also charged with possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a prescription drug.
He told police he was "playing around" with the weapon.
