PORTERVILLE, Calif. -- Church bells have chimed in honor of three people killed in a shooting that also wounded a fourth person on an Indian reservation in California.
Authorities say 31-year-old Hector Celaya also shot and wounded his two daughters, ages 5 and 8, who were with him in the vehicle when he was apprehended about 2 a.m. Sunday.
Tulare County sheriff's Sgt. Chris Douglass says Celaya was wounded when he fired his weapon, prompting deputies to return fire.
The initial took place at the Tule Indian Reservation. Tribal council secretary Rhoda Hunter says the suspected shooter had what she described as a "real hard life."
