SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Police released names of the victims missing in the Big Sioux River this morning at police briefing.
The young boy who was rescued is Garrett Wallace, 6, of Vermillion.
Emergency officials are still working to recover his sister, 16-year-old Madison Wallace, and Lyle Eagletail, 28, of Sioux Falls.
The boy, 6, did get out of the water, but it isn't clear yet how he got out, Sioux Falls Fire Chief Jim Sideras said Friday morning.
Witnesses describe how man, woman jumped in to save boy.
The boy fell into the water at 6 p.m. Thursday while he was playing under a pedestrian bridge at the park in northern Sioux Falls.
Sideras said ice is hampering rescue efforts. A crane might be brought in to remove the ice.
A dive team was suiting up Friday morning, but they can't search for the bodies until after the ice is eliminated as an issue. The water level is being lowered, but that is making the ice problem worse, Sideras said.
