Police continue to investigate a Saturday morning crash in which a vehicle ended up in a home.
At around 4 a.m., the vehicle crashed into the house at Lowell Boulevard and W. Ohio Avenue in Colorado.
Maria Gordon was sleeping inside at the time. The headboard of her bed backed up to the wall where the Hummer came through the wall.
Gordon was seriously hurt, but was released from the hospital Sunday evening. She says she has broken bones around her eyes, a couple fractured vertebrae, torn ligaments, cuts and bruises. She and doctors say it's a miracle she's alive.
The driver was also taken to the hospital but was not seriously hurt. Police still have not identified or charged the driver, but initially believed alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
Gordon says once she recovers she's going to work to increase DUI awareness.
"It doesn't matter if you're in your car on the street, drunk driving can affect you when you're sleeping at home safe in your bed," Gordon said.
Police say alcohol have been a factor in the crash.
