MIDDLEBURG, Fla. - A local mom ordered a laptop as a Christmas gift for her daughter, only to get the run around by the seller.
Andrea Adams ordered a laptop from her company IT person, Michael Hamilton. Hamilton is self employed and does IT work for local businesses and also sells hardware according to Adams.
Adams provided the On Your Side Team with a month's worth of correspondence with Hamilton and a copy of the $517.88 she gave to Hamilton, which was cashed.
After the laptop was not delivered as promised and Hamilton stopped responding to her phone calls, emails and texts, Adams eventually asked for a refund. Hamilton still was not responding.
The On Your Side Team stepped in and spoke with Hamilton on December 18. Hamilton told the On Your Side Team he would provide Adams with a refund by mid-morning December 19.
In a follow up call to Adams on Dec. 19, she did not have a refund from Hamilton, but did receive correspondence from him claiming he would have it to her later that day.
UPDATE: Adams wrote us with
an update and thanked us for our help. Adams also said, without the On
Your Side team stepping in, she feels like she would still be getting the
runaround. Instead, she received a full refund in cash from Mike Hamilton, the
seller of the laptop that was not delivered as promised. Case closed.
